Mount Rainier National Park

August, 1996

(Rainier 1)

After dropping Kate off at the University of Puget Sound for freshman orientation in August 1996, Freeman and Mary visited Mount Rainier National Park, about 70 miles east of Seattle.
We stayed at the National Park Inn. That's our room, the larger window right above the guy standing at the top of the porch steps.
And this is the view of Mount Rainier at sunset from our room.
Sunrise is the highest point in Mount Rainier National Park that is accessible by car.
This alpine meadow grows at Sunrise, above the tree line.
