This wild flower was photographed on April 7, 2001 in Castlewood State Park, Saint Louis County, Missouri. A walking path wound through wooded hill sides. The trees and shrubs had no leaves yet so early blooming plants on the forest floor received full sunlight. As best I can tell this flower is Anemonella thalictroides.
