This dogwood blossom in Hillsboro, Missouri, is in the process of unfolding. This is the first time we saw this stage of the blossom's development. Always before we only saw fully opened blossoms, as shown in the insert. An hour later, we could not find this flower: it must have completed its unfolding while we ate lunch.
